Jayne Christenson was first elected to the City Commission in November 2020.  Her two-year term will expire in November 2022.   Her governmental experience includes serving as a Holmes Beach Planning Commission member and most recently as Vice-Chair, she served as the AMI Parking and Congestion Committee Chair, and she  has actively participated in Holmes Beach Commission Meetings.   Commissioner Christenson's community experience includes being a supporter of The Center of Anna Maria Island,  serving as an Anna Maria Elementary School volunteer and a Salvation Army Volunteer in Bradenton, and is a member of the Christ Church of Bradenton, along with Saint Stephen's Episcopal School.  Commissioner Christenson and her family have also hosted an exchange student from Honduras.

Commissioner Christenson represents the City by serving as the City's Liaison for Recycling and Solid Waste, the Barrier Island Election Officials, and the Island Transportation Planning Organization.

Her education includes:
-Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology-University of South Florida, Tampa.  
-Kellogg Graduate School of Management-Leadership Development Program, Northwestern University, Chicago.
-Advanced Negotiation Training by Scotwork Corporation 

Commissioner Christenson  has  over 24 years experience working for a large Biopharmaceutical Research and Development Manufacturer based in Chicago.   She has experience in management, product training, marketing, and her current role as a Regional Account Manager in Florida.  

Commissioner Christenson and her husband have one son.
