Commissioner Pat Morton
Pat Morton was first elected to the City Commission in November 2003. He has been re-elected for additional two-year terms on the Commission, most recently in November 2017. In 2017, Commissioner Morton was elected to a one-year term that will expire in November 2018. From 2003 to 2005, he served as City Liaison for the Anna Maria Community Center, Anna Maria Chamber of Commerce, and Keep Manatee Beautiful. From 2005 to 2009, Commissioner Morton served as City Liaison for Waste Management, Anna Maria Emergency Operations Center, Manatee Emergency Operation Center, and the Community For Life program. He currently serves as Liaison for Waste Pro - Recycling and Solid Waste, the Manatee County Emergency Operations Center, and the Police Pension Board.
Commissioner Morton was elected to serve as the Commission's Vice-Chair 2017-2018. He is a member of the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association. In addition, he has been certified by the Emergency Management Institute thru FEMA in completion of courses: IS-00700 and IS-00800.
Commissioner Morton is known for his community involvement in working with every day-to-day events. He is blessed to be a regular blood donor for the past several years.
Commissioner Morton and his wife Gailene have been Holmes Beach residents since 1994. They have two daughters, one grandson, and one great granddaughter. They are members of the CrossPointe Fellowship Church. Commissioner Morton is employed at ACE Hardware in Holmes Beach.
